Thank you Janet! If it feels good I invite you to share how you center yourself during the holidays and when in relationship with loved ones, I would love to hear your thoughts! Otherwise thanks again for reading my reflection on this topic.
I used to run around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying so hard to please everyone ! And now i am so much more comfortable with who i am, and do the best i can; i come into the holidays with open communication to all and a feeling of love and gratitude for a great family that i have, and that we get to spend it together. I choose to let that be my focus and not focus on what could go wrong, or is possibly "not right" and "trying to make everyone happy."
Mmmm I love this Janet! It's choosing true acceptance isn't it. Acceptance of the moment and the people, and yourself, as it is, as you are, not needing things to be different, or to change or manipulate things or people in some way to make you feel okay. You feel good first and then come to the moment, rather than the other way around, expecting the moment to make us feel good, or the people, or the places, or the things. You've recognized it's a choice. Not always easy but the more we practice the easier it gets. Thanks for being an inspiration Janet!
